Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Honorary Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is the director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged as a pioneer in the field of witnesses from children as well as memories of eyewitnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman published widely and has won many grants and has been awarded numerous national and international awards. She has advised numerous federal bodies and administrations throughout the world regarding policies and studies pertaining to the way children are treated by the justice system. She acts as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a former member of numerous professional associations for example, the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been President of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
